BUILT FOR THIS JOB

Transparency gives your image room to travel.

A transparent background means the pixels around your subject have no visible color. That makes the cutout easy to layer over another photo, color, presentation, product card, or design.

BGVanish shows transparent areas as a checkerboard while you edit. Export the finished result as PNG to preserve that transparency; the checkerboard itself is never part of the file.

BETTER RESULTS, QUICKLY

Three things that help.

1

Start with contrast

A subject that stands apart from its background is easier to separate cleanly.

2

Inspect the outline

Check hair, fur, fingers, and narrow gaps and refine them with Erase or Restore.

3

Choose PNG

Use PNG when transparency matters. A JPG export replaces transparency with a solid background.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Before you download.

How do I make a picture background transparent?+

Upload the image, let BGVanish remove the surrounding background, refine the result if needed, and download it as PNG.

Does PNG support transparency?+

Yes. PNG can store transparent pixels, which is why BGVanish uses PNG for transparent-background downloads.

Can JPG have a transparent background?+

No. Standard JPG files do not support alpha transparency. Use PNG for a transparent result.

Why do I see gray squares?+

They are the editor's transparency grid. They help you see which pixels are transparent and do not appear in your PNG.
