How do I remove a background from an image?+
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image, or try the example. The tool finds the main subject and removes the surrounding background. Compare Original and Result, touch up the edges if needed, then download a transparent PNG.
Is the background remover free?+
The single-image tool is free and adds no watermark. Accepted files are up to 10 MB and 40 megapixels. Output preserves the image proportions, with the longest side limited to 2,048 pixels.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?+
No. Processing happens in your browser. The app downloads its image-processing engine, but your selected photo is not sent to an image-processing server. Images are held in this tab until you clear it, replace the photo, or close the page.
Why does the first photo take longer?+
Your browser downloads the removal engine on first use. Processing speed depends on the device and connection. Keep the tab open while it works; Cancel stops an active job.
Which photos work best?+
Choose a sharp photo with one distinct subject. Fine hair, transparent objects, busy backgrounds, and low contrast can be difficult. Automatic removal is a starting point; inspect and refine the result before using it.
